The sweepstakes runs from October 20 through November 30, 2026, and is open to qualifying adults in the 50 United States, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico. Participants can enter without making a purchase, either through an eligible My Best Buy membership account or through the official postal entry method.

What Can You Win in the Best Buy Store Speedrun Sweepstakes?

Best Buy's official rules identify three prize tiers with a combined approximate retail value of $86,999.80 USD. A total of 121 prizes are available, with no more than one prize awarded per person, family, or household.

Grand Prize: Best Buy Store Speedrun Experience

One grand prize winner will receive a trip for up to two people to Richfield, Minnesota, from January 13 to January 15, 2027. The prize has an approximate retail value of $30,000.

The package includes round-trip coach airfare for the winner and one eligible guest where applicable, two nights of double-occupancy hotel accommodations, specified ground transportation, and an opportunity for the winner to participate in a private in-store shopping event on January 14, 2027.

During that event, the winner will have two minutes to place qualifying merchandise, or designated representations of merchandise, into a shopping cart from a selected store inventory. The maximum permitted merchandise value is $20,000. This is a spending cap for the timed event, not a guaranteed $20,000 cash payment or a guarantee that the winner will collect the full amount.

Best Buy also provides a $7,000 cash tax gross-up payment intended to help with potential tax obligations. The winner remains responsible for any actual tax liability, which may exceed that amount.

First Prizes: 20 HP OMEN Gaming Laptops

Twenty first prize winners will each receive one HyperX HP OMEN 16-inch OLED gaming laptop. The official rules specify the following configuration:

• 16-inch, 165Hz, 2.5K OLED display.
• AMD Ryzen 9 8940HX processor.
• NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics.
• 24GB memory.
• 1TB solid-state drive.
• Shadow Black finish.

Each laptop has an official approximate retail value of $2,599.99 USD. The combined value of the 20 laptop prizes is $51,999.80.

These are complete gaming laptops rather than desktop components or individual graphics-card prizes. The organizer states that first prizes will ship only to eligible addresses within the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, or Puerto Rico.

Second Prizes: 100 Best Buy Reward Certificates

One hundred additional winners will each receive a $50 My Best Buy promotional certificate, for a combined second-prize value of $5,000.

These certificates can be used for qualifying purchases at Best Buy or BestBuy.com, subject to the conditions printed on the certificate. They have no cash redemption value, can be used only once, and are subject to an expiration date.

Importantly, second prize recipients must be My Best Buy members to redeem their certificates. The necessary basic membership is available without a purchase or membership fee.

Who Is Eligible to Enter?

The Best Buy Store Speedrun Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico who are at least 18 years old or have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is older.

Individuals who have won a sweepstakes sponsored by Best Buy Stores, LP within the preceding six months are excluded. Employees and certain personnel associated with Best Buy, the administrator Probability, LLC, PlayStation, HP, and their relevant promotional organizations are also ineligible, as are specified immediate family members and household members.

This promotion is not open worldwide. Residents outside the listed geographic areas cannot enter merely because the website is accessible from their location.

Potential grand prize winners must also satisfy additional verification requirements, including a background check, and must be able to travel during the exact scheduled dates.

How to Enter the Best Buy Store Speedrun Sweepstakes

The organizer provides two entry routes. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win, and purchases do not improve the odds of winning. The daily maximum is four entries per person across all entry methods combined.

Method 1: Online Entry Through My Best Buy

1. Visit the official Best Buy Store Speedrun Sweepstakes page.
2. Log in using an eligible My Best Buy, My Best Buy Plus, or My Best Buy Total membership profile.
3. If you do not have an account, you can join the basic My Best Buy membership without a membership fee.
4. Follow the entry instructions presented on the official sweepstakes page.
5. Return on eligible days if you want to use the daily entry allowance.

Basic My Best Buy members receive one online entry per day. My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total members receive four online entries per day under the published rules.

Purchasing a paid membership is not necessary to participate. Basic members may supplement their single daily online entry with as many as three properly submitted mail-in entries per day, subject to the combined daily limit.

Method 2: Free Mail-In Entry Without Membership

Nonmembers may obtain up to four entries per day using the organizer's alternative postal entry method. Each valid postal submission counts toward the same daily limit as online entries.

1. Use a 3-by-5-inch notecard.
2. Handwrite your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number on the notecard.
3. Place the completed notecard in a separate business-size #10 envelope.
4. Mail the envelope to: Best Buy The Store Speedrun Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 1559, Social Circle, GA 30025-1559.
5. Use a separate envelope and handwritten notecard for every individual mail-in entry.
6. Ensure that each entry is postmarked by November 30, 2026, and received by December 7, 2026.

Mechanically reproduced notecards are not accepted. For mailed entries, the envelope's postmark date is used to determine the applicable daily limit. Sending more than four entries per person per day across all methods can result in disqualification.

While a purchase is unnecessary, entrants using the postal method are responsible for their own mailing materials and postage.

How Are Winners Selected and Contacted?

Potential winners will be selected through a random drawing from eligible entries, administered by Probability, LLC. The drawing is scheduled for approximately December 8, 2026. Actual odds depend on the total number of valid entries received.

Grand prize and first prize potential winners must complete the applicable eligibility, release, and tax documentation within the time limits stated in their notifications. The grand prize potential winner must confirm their interest and travel availability within 24 hours.

Failure to respond or return required documents may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternate potential winner. Participants should monitor the email address connected to their entries, including spam and junk folders.

Important Travel, Tax, and Redemption Conditions

The grand prize travel dates are fixed. If the selected winner is unable to participate during January 13–15, 2027, the prize may be forfeited. The guest must also meet the applicable age-of-majority requirement and complete required documents.

The grand prize winner is responsible for certain personal costs that are not part of the stated travel package, such as meals, baggage fees, gratuities, hotel incidentals, and other expenses not expressly covered by the official rules.

All winners are responsible for applicable taxes. Grand prize and first prize recipients will receive tax reporting documentation and must provide the information required for that process.

The $50 promotional certificates are not cash gifts. Each certificate has separate usage and expiration conditions, and second prize winners must have a My Best Buy membership to redeem their award.
